What is a Tanning Ledge or Sunshelf?
A Shallow Area for Lounging and Relaxation
Also known as a Baja shelf or sun shelf, a tanning ledge is a shallow platform (usually 6–12 inches deep) built into your pool that allows you to relax partially submerged in water.
Ideal for All Ages
It provides a safe, shallow area where children can play and adults can relax on a lounger or dip their feet in the water.
Functional and Stylish
Tanning ledges enhance your pool’s visual appeal and serve as a versatile space for sunbathing, socializing, or even enjoying a drink.
Benefits of Adding a Tanning Ledge to Your Pool
Relaxation with a View
Stay cool while sunbathing. The shallow water keeps your body refreshed even during peak heat hours.
Family-Friendly Design
Great for young kids and pets, tanning ledges allow everyone to enjoy the water safely.
Perfect for In-Water Furniture
Install loungers, umbrellas, or side tables for an upscale resort feel in your own backyard.
Enhances Pool Aesthetics
A tanning ledge adds a sleek, modern touch to your pool and helps transition between shallow and deeper areas.
